Michael Jackson was a disaster with his personal life. Many have speculated was the result of a very abusive childhood. What he was subjected to abuse as a child he attempted to make up for as an adult. This only resulted in an continued even more abusive lifestyle. I am not justifying his abuse, but it seems he kept trying to fix the abuse of his past by making trying to make it right as an adult. Study after study has confirmed that many adult abusers and prostitutes were indeed abuse victims as children. I think his moonwalking is an apt picture of his lifestyle. We like to appear we are moving forward when in reality we are moving backward.
There has been something that has been rattling through my brain over the last couple of weeks that has bothered me in my thinker in a way that is only now peculating forth. I have an odd belief that thinking is not what you do when you are focused on a subject in the forefront of your mind, thinking is what happens in the background of your mind while you tend to what is happening in the forefront.
Kim Clement as previously said in part as previously quoted:
January 14, 2006 . . . And some of you said, when the Spirit said, “Hillary Clinton,” some of you shouted out, “yes!” God said, “I have already dealt with her heart, not to be president of this nation, but to be president in a Christian world . . .
That phrase has been bothering me in my mind since I first read it. Then it dawned on me of how much in error such talk is. This is totally backwards. While it seems as if he is prophesying the future, in reality he is repeating the same mistakes of the past.
The Holy Spirit through Matthew quotes Jesus:
- Matthew 6:10 NASB – 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
- Matthew 16:19 NASB – 19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”
- Matthew 18:18 NASB – 18 “Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.
These verses carry meaning way more than our modern understanding in the Charismatic movement. But for now I will deal with the meaning that seems to be in the forefront of the Charismatic mindset.
The unspoken theology is when prophecies do not come to pass on earth that is because they come to pass in heaven, therefore they are correct even when they are wrong!
Notice the order of the action. GOD’S WILL IS THAT WHAT HAPPENS ON EARTH IS WHAT HAPPENS IN THE HEAVENS AND THE ACTION OF THE HEAVENILIES IS FIRST LIVED OUT ON THE EARTH. (Did I shout that loud enough?)
One would think after the Millerites disaster of the 1800s they would have learned their lesson that false prophesy is just plain false. They gave several failed prophesies via date setting between 1843 and 1844. When they did not come to pass their excuse was that was because we did not realize those were only for the heavenlies. Thus, we have the birth of the Seventh Day Adventists who still exist today as they still rally around the “only in the heavenlies” excuse.
It is clear from Scripture that binding and loosing takes place here are on earth first. Using the heavenly realm as an excuse for false prophesy is not an excuse. It is a shame that some in the secular media are way ahead of the Christian media with this realization. Do not expect those who believe in false prophesies to admit they were false. Instead expect them to rally around the false prophesies. The false prophecies and their followers are not going anywhere. Instead expect them to be around for quite a while. Apparently Moonwalking is still very much in style.
Though new cults may be forming, we are still called to:
- Matthew 5:44 NASB – 44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
- Luke 6:28 NASB – 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
So even during the dark days still to come of doubling down on false prophesies, please above all else, remember to love much my friends . . .
